Madison's Experience

My name is Madison and I am a 31-year old occupational therapist. I have suffered from hemifacial spasms for the past 3 years. After having a bad experience with Botox and realizing that it does not cure hemifacial spasms, I joined a worldwide hemifacial spasm Facebook support group. This is where I found Dr. Sekula, who performed my MVD surgery. Dr. Sekula and his team were so informative during my pre-procedure visit. They answered all of my detailed questions and were never pushy about getting the surgery. They also demonstrated good ethics and patient care. I woke up from MVD surgery spasm-free. The picture above on the left shows me before MVD surgery, and the picture on the right shows me after MVD surgery. Not only are my spasms gone, the symmetry of my face is back to normal. I’ve had many friends and family members tell me that they can substantially notice the difference before and after MVD surgery. This surgery significantly changed my life and self-confidence. I feel as if a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders and I give all thanks to Dr. Sekula and his team!
