I had surgery about 24 hours ago. It was an amazing surgery with very little pain afterwards--I’m able to walk and talk, and it was all made possible by the neurosurgery department. My wife noticed that I wasn't finishing my sentences and said I had to go get it checked out. She had stage 4 cancer and her neurologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering told me that there's only one practice in the nation to go to, so that’s where I went. I had been told that the way to approach this tumor is to go from the top, basically from one ear to the other ear. When I met with Dr. McKhann and Dr. Sekula, however, they suggested a minimally invasive way of handling this tumor by making an incision through my eyebrow and a bone opeining the size of a nickel. I was promised that I would be out of the hospital in two days.

I had the surgery and as you can see, the incision was less than an inch. Dr. McKhann and Dr. Sekula were able to go in through that incision in my eyebrow and remove the entire tumor. After waking up from the surgery, I was hungry, walked to the bathroom completely mobile, and was ready to leave. It’s amazing that I am walking out within 2 days with just a tiny incision above my eyebrow. I feel amazing, like I have a clearer mind with the tumor being removed.
